Wednesday May 8th --  New Moon Healing Fire Homa (Ceremony)

**Cancelled because of a solar eclipse! see you next month

Purifying the soul through the fire element

Charging & decharging through the powerful energy of the New Moon

Better living through fire & meditation, increasing prosperity & connecting to the Mother Divine...
Come charge and decharge your soul fires in Bonny Doon!

Come enjoy the healing power of the fire element, at a Vedic fire ceremony (homa, or yagyam).  Using the power of the new moon (when the moon is dark) to help decharge whatever stress, strain, anxiety, dis-ease, and overwhelm, you'll find a rapid release and relief in your life -- leaving you free to create beautiful activities or maintain balance in your everyday life.

The ancient saints of India kept their sacred fires burning continually, as a way of helping purify the atmosphere and the consciousness in this world. One fire homa is roughly the equivalent of a month's worth of focused meditation, to the soul -- it's a huge charging up, a strengthening, of our soul fires.

WHAT'S A FIRE HOMA!?? This and other questions answered on the Homa FAQ page.

Questions?: 831/ 425-3234

Time:  7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Donation:  $10 and two roses!

Or, sponsor a homa!

Location:
UCBK Temple
9700 Empire Grade
Santa Cruz, CA

Directions to the temple HERE

CARPOOLING MANDATORY! Carpooling coordinator: Carmen DeVida. Please plan to park in the UCBK driveway.

(Holy Womb Process people, this will be the night to do the yantra process in the fire if you want to do it as a group.)

To receive the maximum benefit and healing from the homa fires, and because of the super-intense energies involved, it's highly advisable on the actual day of the homa to eat vegetarian food only and

stay away from intoxicants.

What to bring:  Be sure to dress for current outdoor conditions - spring's here; the weather can be unpredictable -- it can be brutally hot, or chilly, where layers are your friends after the sun goes down. Blankets, shawls & sweaters are implicated!  If it's too cold or wet outside, we'll do the fire homa indoors. It is also a good idea to bring a cushion to sit on.  And of course -- roses to share!

Wednesday May 29th - Sunday June 23rd -- Women Of The Light: A Sai-Powered Special Program Of Healing, Knowledge & Grace

A special series of conference calls & healing retreat by UCBK women for spiritual women, bringing our sisters together to uplift, heal & empower ourselves

"All spiritual students need to know the phenomenon of the mother, and follow that belief system. It's quite amazing.  It means the ladies are the first.

Today I'm declaring, my first preference are the ladies.  They're the first healers in the globe.  They're the first avataras, avatarinis, bhairavi matas, aghorinis. They have it.  They're carrying it.  They're doing it.  They're dedicated.  They volunteered. They sacrificed. It gives the true fragrance of the reality."
                                              -- Sri Kaleshwar

Women interested in a deeper spirituality are invited to join this beautiful program of broadening our collective awareness, going more thoroughly into the unique issues facing women in the Shakti channels of Sai spiritual life & consciousness.  The goal is to explore the unity & diversity of our individual and collective capacity to operate as powerful forces for love, enlightenment and healing in the world, as sisters -- but also as mothers, daughters, wives, girlfriends, healers, siddhas, and emanations of the Mother Divine.

The program will be facilitated by four women practitioners at UCBK: Alx Uttermann, Gautami Drahos, Carmen DeVida, and Andrea Williamson.

We will be moderating a series of four conference calls, giving the group the chance to grind the divine knowledge together and share experiences from the different angles of these opening lotus petals of our spiritual lives.  Together, we will walk into a clearer understanding of what it means to be women carrying the intense divine light of the Sai energy channels.

In between the calls, we'll be available in an online forum available only to the group members, to develop themes and explore the calls' content more deeply.

The four calls will culminate in an on-site women's retreat at UCBK, from Friday June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd.  This is a special opportunity for women to come together in Baba's power spot here on the hill in the Santa Cruz mountains, to build the energy and experience the healing peace of expanded consciousness as a group.

The final day of the retreat, Sunday June 23rd, is a full moon day and we will be doing a special fire homa in Mother Divine's energy together, and sharing that fire homa & some of the teachings that day with the women who are attending from a distance, via webcast on the internet.

Once you register for the program...
you'll be given information & access codes to the conference calls & online forum, and other supporting materials.

All registrants will be eligible to join the calls, forum and also be included as sponsors of the special fire homa during the women's retreat on Sunday, June 23rd.

Friday - Sunday, June 21st-23rd -- Women Of The Light: Special Women's Retreat Weekend at UCBK

A special retreat in a deep exploration & celebration of our collective healing, knowledge & grace in a powerful, peaceful setting

Rose petal abishek to the Shirdi Baba murthi at UCBK

"The Vedic concept speaks about the womb chakra. If you take Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Shirdi Baba, Buddha, Jesus Christ -- they received amazing light through women. Women are more powerful than men.

Generally, a woman needs the male energy to control the nature (to handle the negativity and suffering). Now, my female students will be able to cross the negativity by connecting to the Guru Parampara. One day they will lead the globe in spirituality."

                                                                -- Sri Kaleshwar

This retreat will be a coming together of the Shakti, Divine Mother's power & creation abilities, through a strong group of spiritual women.  Our goal is to discover more depths & clarity in our spiritual essence, and in the role of being the bringers & tenders of the divine spark, the divine light, in the world.

Who are we, as spiritual embodiments of the Divine Mother?  What does it mean to be a spiritual siddha in a female form? How can we use our relationship with Nature, as agents OF Nature, to bless, to heal, to help ever and hurt never -- starting with our own tender hearts?

Since UCBK has been blessed with amazingly divine power objects, linking directly to the consciousness masters, and to Mother Divine (some of the objects are 'millions of years old,' according to Sri Kaleshwar), we are triply blessed to be sharing the presence of these incredible soul characters with our community of sisters in spirituality.

"Wherever Baba's brick is, there is Dwarakamai," Sri Kaleshwar told the Jesus group when we received the brick piece that is in residence at UCBK. We will be effectively sitting in Dwarakamai, then, receiving, sharing, and transmitting the high divine energy that we generate as a group.

We know that energy needs to flow continually, to keep developing in strength and clarity -- this is true in healing, in meditation, & in developing a functional relationship with the silence that is our soul.

As powerful women coming together, we will create satsang, meals, laughter, deep knowledge grinding, powerful silent meditations and a special Full Moon fire homa on the final day (webcast to other group members who aren't able to come to UCBK in person to share and receive the energy).

Everyone participating will be staying at the temple for the three days, where meals & sleeping mats will be provided, for your comfort and the smooth ease of the retreat.

This retreat will be facilitated by four Sai women at UCBK -- Alx Uttermann, Gautami Drahos, Carmen DeVida and Andrea Williamson.

We're looking forward to seeing you at UCBK during this special time!

About The Sai Shakti Satsang

Sai Shakti Satsang includes some sacred song (bhajan) singing, peaceful & uplifting healing meditation, followed by a group discussion around a spiritual subject...

Jonathan & Alx share knowledge, insights, and spiritual healing energy from this 'new ancient tradition' of Shirdi Sai Baba & his lineage of healing saints, leading to a group question-and-answer discussion to create sat-sang (literally, 'divine truth in a group setting').

New!  Join Sai Shakti Satsang by phone from anywhere in the world!

You can also join Sai Shakti Satsang by remote conference call - send an email to the UCBK Temple if you'd like to be included in UCBK's notification emails (including the phone number and access code).

"I'm happily applauding and promoting your Thursday night satsang-over-the-phone. I am literally amazed, impressed and inspired that the Divine knowledge can be so wonderfully, skillfully and thoroughly presented and shared over the phone... "
        -- C.M., Palo Alto, CA

"As the call progressed I realized that my self-doubt and fear is part of the process of going to a deeper level.

When the two of you spoke of how when you realized that "the energy is running in YOU" ... and that we're not going to India to sit in his lap, that it's about communicating on an internal level,  I thought, "that's what started to happen to me. WOW!!!!!! OH MY GOD!"

A step towards clarity.  That's why I'm going to Penukonda in February.
I want to start to harvest this strange surge of energy that he's opened up for me and to THINK on it.  Instead of running around here in New York like a lunatic."
                                                      --   V.J., New York

Why is a group dynamic so important, and a fundamental part of any serious spiritual undertaking?

One part of the answer lies in a mysterious concept called 'protection circles,' the soul (and angelic) layers of support and mystical protection that are developed any time more than one or two people come together to share spiritual practice.

There is a compelling story about a group of Japanese monks meditating at the time the United States dropped the atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima -- IN Hiroshima. The whole city was reduced to fire and ash but their monastery kept standing and the whole group of monks was unharmed by the explosion and subsequent radiation.

Why?    Protection circles, because they were meditating together as a group.

There really is no substitute for group experience, group spiritual practice, and the support that can be found in a spiritual community.  A group can advance spiritually in a rapid way, where an individual is more likely to get stuck and flounder.

The satsang experience, on a weekly basis, reminds people who are committed to living a spiritual life about the importance of meditation, healing, inspiration, support, love, understanding and compassion on a day-to-day level, as a practical function of spiritual discipline. It gives everyone a chance to go deeper into their spiritual practice and meditation experiences, and to ask questions along the way about the different stages and adventures of spiritual life.

You can find out more about this expression of 'groupism' by checking out Alx' blog.

Alx & Jonathan returned to Santa Cruz in March 2005, after spending seven years studying in India. Their training was/is in intense spirituality and healing techniques from a Shiva-Shakti** tradition with the miracle healing lineage (Guru Parampara) of Shirdi Sai Baba, Jesus Christ, and other luminous saints.

**Shakti - 1) high powerful divine energy. 2) the Feminine divine force, expressed as the principle of creation. 3) part of the mechanism of miracles. 4) another name for the Divine Mother or Goddess.

What They're Saying

"It is truly a delight to watch the two of you step into leadership with such love and dedication. It shows a true self mastery to be able to give so much so deeply to so many. May all your days be blessed and may you feel the gratitude of my heart for your sharing of the sacred knowledge."
                                                                                                    -- G.R., Grover Beach

"Thank you for the wonderful Saturday evening, your presence and the knowledge you shared. My inspiration is back on track, I found it not very easy to do it all alone."
                                                                                              -- Y., Los Angeles

"Again, Blessings to you both for your wonderful work and sharing the Divine Knowledge. I will certainly do my part to keep the energy going..."
                                                                                              -- S., Los Angeles

A note about donations:  All of our events are available to any sincere spiritual student in search of divine knowledge--as such, we do accept sliding scale and other trades if finances are a barrier preventing you from attending.  If you've already taken a major course, like the Five Elements Process or the Sri Chakra Yantra, you are welcome to attend these courses again, at a 50% fee (plus any materials fees if appropriate).
